Deep Cove (& North Saanich)

Deep Cove is situated in the top western region of the Saanich Peninsula, in the district of North Saanich.  Sometimes people’s definition of Deep Cove include’s Lands End and often times Sandown, but this all changes on whom you’re speaking with.   Usually anything North of Mills Road is considered Deep Cove.  People who live out in this area are truly blessed considering how beautiful and peaceful it is.  Being steps away to the countless amenities in Sidney BC means you’re never far away from whats happening.  Living in Deep Cove means you have the best of both worlds.  This place is a truly a gem. 

Walking along the waterfront path in Patricia Bay is nothing short of cinematic.  No matter what the weather you can’t help but smile when you look out into the inlet.  When the tide goes out you can walk barefoot along the sandy shore for hours.  If you’re into horseback-riding, Deep Cove and the surrounding area is full of riding stables and places to board your horse. For those up for a quick drive, the Panorama Rec Centre is a short drive away.  Ardmore and Glen Meadows golf courses are also within a stones throw.

For extreme convenience, within minutes you’ll be able to reach the BC Ferries Terminal or the Victoria Airport.  Your day trip on the boat to Vancouver or the retrieval of your in-bound guest will never be easier.  You’ll never have to worry about traffic when you live in Deep Cove – it’s all backroads out here.   If you want to grab a bite to eat, the Deep Cove Market is a great place for a quick sandwich and a soup.  Or if you’re looking for a fine dining experience the Deep Cove Chalet serves exceptional dishes and features gorgeous views of the inlet.   This is the place for a candlelight dinner, without question.  Speaking of candles, Deep Cove also has it’s own Fire Department as well as a local Co-Op gas station, if you’re looking to add to the fire. 

For the past 25 years the Deep Cove Folk have been giving back to the local community by raising money through music related festivities.   The group meets every 2nd friday of the month in the nearby church where even the volunteers feel compelled to contribute.  So far they have raised thousands of dollars throughout the years and are proud to keep their home in the newly designated heritage building.   Although technically not in Deep Cove, there are plenty of community events a few minutes away in Sidney.  Annual fairs, classic car shows, and countless other activities are always taking place on the Saanich Peninsula, it’s just a matter of how many more minutes you want to add to your drive.  Living in Deep Cove is definitely worth those extra 4 minutes.
